I can adapt my class to your primary goal:
- if you plan on going in France for vacation, we can focus on daily basic conversations
- if you want to really understand how this language work, we can focus on the grammar by working with a textbook
- if you already speak some French and want to improve your comprehension skills, we can read together newspaper articles or more literary texts.
As I experience myself with Japanese, learning a lot of vocabulary is really important, as well as listening everyday to the language you learn, so I will give you extra class exercises to improve your French quicker.
Finally, I think it is really important to be always reminded why you are learning a language, so if you want to, we can also discuss every aspect of French culture you might want to hear about.
Back in France,I gave numerous private lessons to middleschool, highschool, undergraduate students in French language and literature, Latin, English, history, philosophy. As I studied Japanese in Paris, I also had the opportunity to teach many Japanese students learning French, which gave me some insight on the specific difficulties Japanese students are facing while learning French.
