Reasons for Becoming a French Teacher or English Teacher.
Passion for Language: A love for the French language and culture
Impact on Students: I find fulfilling to help students communicate in a new language and broaden their horizons.
Desire for Connection: Language teaching can create meaningful connections with students, enriching both their lives and the teacher's.
My name is Sophian, and I hail from France. Throughout my life, I have been driven by a strong desire for international exposure, aiming to challenge and overcome stereotypes associated with my home country. This journey has equipped me with a unique perspective that I am eager to share with my students as a French and English teacher.
At the age of 21, I made the bold decision to relocate to China after completing my Chinese studies in France. This move not only enhanced my command of the Chinese language but also deepened my understanding of cross-cultural communication—an essential skill in language education.
Following my degree, I gained valuable experience in sales and marketing while working for a Sino-Western design company, where I was responsible for overseeing sales and marketing activities in Mainland China. This role honed my ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively, a skill I can apply in teaching French and English, ensuring students grasp the nuances of both languages.
After returning to France, I worked as a fashion stylist at a prestigious fashion label while contemplating my academic pursuits. To supplement my business studies, I enrolled in a dual program at Givenchy Paris, gaining exposure to both Retail and Wholesale business units. This experience taught me the importance of creativity and adaptability—qualities that are vital in engaging students and making language learning dynamic.
Equipped with a BBA in business and marketing, I further expanded my expertise by enrolling in a Master's program in Sales and Management at ESCP Europe in Berlin. Concurrently, I worked as an account executive at Zalando Marketing Services, overseeing communication and marketing efforts. This experience reinforced my understanding of audience engagement, which I can leverage to tailor my teaching strategies to diverse learning styles.
My previous experiences living in China, Germany, and exploring various countries have enriched my cultural awareness, enabling me to create an inclusive classroom environment. This global perspective is crucial for teaching languages, as it allows me to highlight the cultural contexts behind language use.
In my most recent role at CASETiFY, I spearheaded marketing initiatives focused on the European market, particularly the German sector. This role required clear communication and collaboration, skills that are directly transferable to fostering effective learning in the classroom.
I would love the opportunity to discuss in further detail how my diverse experiences and skill set can contribute to your language programs and enhance the learning journey for students of French and English.
