フランス語を学ぶ生徒へアドバイス

Hi!

My name is Matthieu, I am french and come from Reims, a city near Paris. I studied linguistics in Strasbourg, near Germany and have a good experience in teaching French and English to Japanese. I indeed worked for almost two years as a French and English teacher in Tokyo and had an amazing experience with Japanese people. I believe that the best way to learn a foreign language is to take the pressure off, and try to focus on what is really important about it: communication and exchange. Therefore during my classes I always try to make a relaxed atmosphere where everybody feels comfortable and does not hesitate to participate and share his experience. I also think that memory works in a way that if you don’t enjoy what you are doing, in the end you don’t remember much. So during my classes you are most likely to learn, sure, but more importantly have fun, laugh and have a good time. I know that studying a foreign language is tough, but through games, the learning process is more efficient. Also each word you learn requires a context, so I usually make up situation where you can use all the vocabulary newly learned to print it for good in your memory! I am a very easy-going person, I am dynamic and patient, I believe I have a very contact with people so do not be afraid to contact me! I am looking forward to meeting new students for a French or an English lesson!

I graduated from the Political Science Institute of Strasbourg and got a master’s degree in Asian Business with highest honors in 2009. At the same time I was attending the faculty of linguistics of Strasbourg where I got a bachelor’s degree in English and German with highest honors. I also specialized in FLE, i.e. French teaching as a foreign language and was assistant of at the International linguistic center of my University where I was teaching french to foreign students. I first came to Japan in 2006 for one year exchange program at Chuo University, faculty of law. During this time I was also teaching french and English at two language schools in Tokyo, Kokusai Gaiko Center in Mitaka and Global Village in Tama Center. I was teaching kids but also adults from beginner to advanced level. I graduated last year and am currently living in Japan with a working visa. I truly hope I can go back to teaching! I really enjoyed teaching French and English to Japanese students who always seem eager to learn and share. I am a friendly and easy-going person making my student comfortable. I always try to adapt my classes to my audience in order to make the learning process as smooth as possible.
